My feet have taken me to the most wonderful, sad, happy, interesting, hot, cold, boring, exciting places imaginable. Sometimes, especially as I've aged...they have hurt and gotten very weary, but they kept going, not wanting to miss a thing! In 2011, I was blessed beyond imagination to take the trip of my life time. Amy and I went on a two week Mediterranean cruise. We flew into Rome a few days before the cruise and did some sight seeing in that ancient and wonderful city. Once aboard the cruise our stops were Greece where we visited Santorini, Mykonos, Rhodes and Athens. In Italy we visited the Amalfi coast, the island of Capri, Naples, Sorrento, the Island of Sicily and Toarmina, We also went to Ephesus in Turkey.
Standing in front of the ruins in Athens. What history!
Amy and I in front of the ancient ruins of Ephesus. This was one of the most spiritually meaningful stops of all.
Here I am standing with a guard in Athens, Greece. Don't look at him and don't touch him! I like his shoes with the little pom-poms on them, LOL! My legs are all bandaged and bruised...I really didn't care, I just wanted to experience it all!
Santorini! Oh what joy! It is as beautiful as the mind can imagine! I look like I rolled out of bed, but I actually have my swim suit on underneath that schemata. We spent the day at the beach, eating stuffed grape leaves and salad and sipping on fruit smoothies.
These are the famous Spanish steps of Rome. I actually walked down each one - very slowly. This was before I had either of my knees replaced and I winced in pain with each step! This is only half way down.
Amy is throwing a coin in the Trevi fountain. I wonder what she was wishing for. I was wishing to come back again! We saw and tasted and enjoyed much more then I can post here. I am beyond thankful that the Lord gave me the desire of my heart. It was something I never, ever thought I would be blessed to participate in.
Amy and I never failed to recognize why our trip was possible or to give thanks to God who provided for it. He alone kept us safe in a foreign land. He alone touched our hearts and caused tears to flow when remembering He created it all, and the foundations of civilization were laid by Him.
Whether I'm driving to my local market, or on the other side of the world, I am nothing with out my Savior. He provides safety, peace, joy, comfort, security, and the very breath that fills my lungs. It's all about Him.
Acts 17:28
For in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your poets have said. For we are also his offspring.

I actually don't get what dearest Terry is talking about. I do get that Miss Patty and I have visited the same places and had some life changing memories from our travels. That is so wonderful. Greece and Italy are two of the places I'd like to visit once more, if the Lord allows it.
Aww Terry, I love you, couldn't ever do any thing but love you!
Felisol...how I too would love to go back, but just like this trip, it would have to be provided by the Lord. Yes...it truly was life changing!
That trip does look like a "life changer" - and wonderful pictures, too.
So glad you got to do that and have those memories.
Blessings to you tomorrow.
What moments .. what memories .. what a trip of a life time! Life changing indeed!
So glad we got to see a few memories of your trip...So glad you now have new knees! You can go again now and have even more fun!
dear miss patty...this wouldn't of been as nice a trip if miss amy hadn't of been with you....mother and daughter enjoying so many stunning places together and the two of you had good cameras to copy the images and enjoy them when you finally arrived home!
and now you are sharing them with us and i feel just like i was with you guys!
i remember several years back that that i took mom golden to visit my beloved mantitoba....well the site where we lived wasn't a very awesome one because the base was closed down and the houses were living in a ghost town...but the memory of many little feet, voices of the children playing hop scotch, evy ivy over, hide and seek were still there in my mind among the still streets, and as the houses were all vacant, i took mom golden into the house we nine children lived in, and even though everything was so empty, it wasn't quite because didn't we see that the birds had made many nests in the bedrooms where nine little and big kids had slept?!
ephesus would have been my favourite i think miss patty ephesus...one of the seven churches of god
just to think that you and amy were so close and you probably walked in a few footsteps of st paul...oh how moving this must have been to you as you looked and stood by a church well loved by the lord jesus!
if i was tossing the coin that miss amy is throwing into the fountain, my wish would be that everyone of the scarf sister stay close to the lord jesus and close to each other!!!....love terry
I have been blessed to have spent time in Italy - and visited all the places you did while you were there. Such a beautiful country! Those Spanish Steps....I ran up and down them...couldn't do that now!! I remember before I left for Italy, I spent six months in an intense exercise regimen - doing Richard Simmons Sweatin' to the Oldies every day! I lost weight and conditioned my legs for all the walking I did throughout Italy. I suppose I should set my mind on doing some conditioning exercise again....perhaps if I start now, I will be able to do some walking when we meet in NY in the fall....
