Michigan!
This is the shape of our state, minus the Upper Peninsula. I couldn't figure out how to do both and take a picture. Also, having the shape of the state covered in Canadian Maple leafs is probably a first, but I think very fitting since they are our neighbor. Did you know that Canada is South of us?
This marker in Riverside Park in Windsor Ontario Canada states that Detroit is north of them. Just a sliver north, but we are north, none the less!
Above is the Ambassador bridge which links us from Detroit to Windsor, and below is the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron, MI which links us to Sarnia.
We love our Canadian neighbors and their beautiful land. We also humbly thank them for Tim Horton's coffee, possibly one of their greatest contributions, second only to our beloved Canadian Scarf Sisters!
I leave you as always with the word of God, upon which we live, breathe and have our being!
Romans 13:10
Love works no ill to his neighbor: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

dear miss patty...bernie and i love our american nieghbours too!...ha! even if we have an extra u thrown into our ors words!!
i love michigan in particular because never will i forget the first reunion in your little cottage with so much laughter and happiness and even more important the sharing of the scriptures that we sisters had and then the same at the second reunion where we were all together sharing!....and i really think it will be the same in new york where donna is preparing a get away for us...i guess it really doesn't matter where, eh?...because no matter WHERE, it is the gathering of kindred spirits!..and this year with all the skypes that the sisters have who won't be there physically, we will see them and chat with them through the air!
yes canada did invent tim horons miss patty...tim horton was a famous hockey player...toronto maple leafs...the sad thing is after he opened up his tim hortons restaurants, he was killed in an auto accident...the united states bought the business several years ago and together with "wendys"..sure did a good thing!...the only differences with canada and the states is, most of our tim hortons are opened 24 hours and the only day not open is christmas.
i really love your verse about loving our neighbours as ourselves...three years ago when we had to have passports if we traveled to the states, that is the quickest thing that bernie and i attended to and when we got them, i said to the policeman standing guard in the room..."i would NEVER want to be separated from united states!"...ha! he must of thought i was crazy miss patty, because i was crying with happiness!
i like the canadian sock being shaped like michagan!.....and i love YOU!...god bless america!...love terry
I have an immense love for our Canadian neighbors which began very early in my childhood and continues today with my precious scarf sisters. Lovely post...lovely you....love you.
and now here I go to prove I am not a robot...my word is government.
Well .. I don't recall we made it to Tim Hortons, eh .. when we were in Michigan. Perhaps in NY, eh, yes?? I've been to Windsor many times when we lived in the Mitten .. this was before you needed passports .. it's a beautiful, clean, sparkling city. Good neighbors are the best!
Yes, of course, we will visit Tim Horton's. It is going to be a FULL three days....
The creativity is boundless.
For the first time, now a Canadian Maple sock shows the state of Michigan.
I'm learning all the time.
The only thing I connect with the word Michigan was a radio play hero Dickie Dick Dickens written by Ralph and Alexandra Becker.
He was according to the song born at the lakeside of Michigan's water.
I embrace the idea of us stay at home sisters being able to Skype with you at the gathering.
I just thought that the gathering makes me rich too. I love all the great stories, the smiles and the laughter.
Tim Horton's has made it as far south as Pennsylvania. We have one in each of the two adjacent towns - about 20 miles from me, either way. I am not a coffee drinker...but I hear that "timmy's" coffee is extra specially delicious.
As for our Canadian neighbors...our Scarf Sisters have made me love Canada even more than I already did!
