Bless These Socks!

Today is my first official post of the traveling sock!
Come on in to my house, we'll laugh and talk and Praise God for his constant love!

First I have to share about my sock package from Terry.  How blessed I am to know this special, special lady.  If you're lucky enough to be after her on the mailing list of one of our adventures, your in for a treat!
First of all, the envelope was a hoot!  No doubt who it came from even before opening it.  How many envelopes have Maple Leaf's, Canada Day and Eh? written on them?  It was jam packed with love!  She sent me TWO pairs of socks, one to share, one to keep.  They are adorned with the Canadian Maple leaf.  Also a small sock which is a change purse, complete with a Looney!  I love it!  Any country that calls it's currency a "Looney" has to be loved.  There's a bag of Werthers candy, which reminds me of her sweetness and Dad Golden sending a dish of candy to the last two reunions held in MI.  Also, scripture mints which Felisol sent her, too special to eat!  A beautiful magnet and last but not least a fan!  She said that Bernie fellow picked it out.  That's awfully special to me.  Bernie...I'm YOUR fan!
Well, my bed is made, socks ready to put on and a day ready to start.
This is where my day begins.  In my living room with my Bible.  I'm reading the Bible in Chronological order on a daily schedule, although I find myself reading ahead!
I put my traveling sock shod feet up on the couch, rest my back against some comfy pillows and  open to today's scripture and start my day in His presence.
In closing, I will leave you with the opening of my reading this morning in Psalm 139.
O Lord, you have searched me and you know me.  You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar.  You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.
As I continue on my week with this adventure, I pray that the words on my tongue, and written on this page, always be pleasing to the Lord
I love you all!

~It is well with my soul

dear miss patty...yes bless the socks but you know what, eh?...i think that the beautiful lady wearing them is the blessed one!

miss patty when i saw the welcome on your door, it reminded me of last year when betty and rachel and i arrived at that door and you weren't home because you were picking one or two of the sisters up from the airport[ i think] ...anyways when we went to to the side door and i saw your note to us, it really touched my heart....you told us where to find the hidden key...just imagine that you had so much trust in us and then when we did get it and let ourselves inside..another note from you telling us to make ourselves at home....and we sure did!

what a great way to start your day miss patty!...that verse...O Lord, you have searched me and you know me. You know when I sit and when I rise; you perceive my thoughts from afar. You discern my going out and my lying down; you are familiar with all my ways. Before a word is on my tongue you know it completely, O Lord.....that you have put in here reminds me so much of sara...it is good for all of us and of course but in sara's case it really hits with what she has on her path now...the lord knew that he wanted you to put this in here!

now miss patty, you had better find out why your tummy is hurting you so much..we can't have our sister being ill ya know!

god bless you and i love you...love terry

ps you know what else miss patty...these are felisol's most favourite verses!...just fancy that!

I admire you reading the Bible in chronological order. My dad did that, 34 times. I've only managed two, and that is a long time ago.
It takes a lot of self discipline, especially when reading the Old Testament. My dad's attitude was, Not a word shall be removed, not a word shall be added. It's all there.
The candies are for eating. "I found your words and I ate them."
How I love you are just in "my" psalm, the 139th. I have that on the front page of my blog. It's amazing to be surrounded by the Almighty like this.
Praying for your stomach pains. I am not of the belief that pains are for keeps. Pain are for God showing his wonders, either to heal us or making our lives wonderful in spite of our pains. He so loves us.

I like your attitude toward pain, Felisol! What a great way to see it. I will need to find socks without toes if the sock comes to me in summer....its too hot for socks in GA in summertime....:) Or maybe sheer ones....hmmmm

I am inspired by your daily morning commitment to read God's Word chronologically. I have attempted that twice - and haven't followed through - I always seem to get lost somewhere else....

I like the wreath on your door ...reminds me of our scarf baby, sweet Rowan. :)
