UPDATE ON SPIANAL TAP

Thanks to all of you who have been lifting our family up before the Lord! I talked to Jess yesterday right before she left the hospital and she seemed to be okay. She admitted it was pretty rough more so emotionally than physically. If I had been up to it, I would have been there for her. Heck, I would've traded places with her! It's standard procedure to lie on your back for 3 hours after having a spinal tap so that you don't develop a lumbar headache which is far worse than the most painful migraine headache apparently. The fluid has to fill back in and I guess the headache develops if there is air bubbles and so on. Sounds pretty intense! She was told that the amount of fluid was the most that the tech had ever seen.

The next step is extensive blood work and then an in depth eye exam. (Continued build up of this excess fluid has the potential for blindness), On March 10th she has a consultation with the specialist who will go over her findings from the spinal tap, blood work and so on. Please continue to pray for peace of mind for Jessica and for no fear. Thanks from the bottom of my mother's heart!

SPINAL TAP

My 26 year old daughter Jessica is having a spinal tap this morning at 10:30. She has been diagnosed with excess fluid on her brain (Empty Cella Syndrome) and this procedure is still a part of the evaluation process. Please pray for her, she's nervous and fearful. We are believing that everything will go smoothly today, no complications from the procedure and that her recovery will be complete and fast. We are also praying that this will relieve some of the pressure which has been causing her horrible migraine headaches. We are thankful that this will give her Neuroligist a better window into the best way to treat her.
Thanks sisters, I always know that I can count on you to intercede.

Where ARE You, Traveling Scarf?

Now I am beginning to worry a bit like Julie was about our Canadian Postal Service.
That multi-coloured scarf left Canada at 4PM Monday afternoon, so it should of reached its destiny by now!
I guess we will just have to wait and see which mailbox it will finally end up in!

The Sisterhood Traveling Scarf Say Adios

The multi -coloured sisterhood scarf left Canada at 4:00 PM today.
Parting is such sweet sorrow!


Knowing that I had until four to send the scarf on its way to the next sister, I decided to invite the scarf to my doctors' appointment in Hamilton.
Life has been so busy that I never got the chance to visit Betty and John with our our guest and so as Betty was with me today, I put the scarf around her neck and snapped this photo.



And then Betty took this picture of the patient!

I am not supposed to tell anyone where the sisterhood traveling scarf is headed.
Mrs. Mac knows!
It has been a great ten days for Bernie and I!

Sunday Afternoon at Mom and Dad Golden's

I wasn't feeling up to snuff today but Bernie did take the scarf and me over to Dad and Mom Golden's for dinner.
Dad had made a delicious ham and in the meantime, because I, was home all morning, I had the time to make scalloped potatoes.
Sunday is the best dinner of the week for Mom and Dad and they relish it.
Dad Golden is an awsome cook!

I was a little tired and didn't take any pictures.

Saturday and the Traveling Sisterhood Scarf

Bernie and I had our cameras and camcorders all charged up and the tripods in the car.
Today we had been planning to take the multi-coloured scarf to the Sunday School treat.
As the children sing and as they recite their verses, Bernie usually does the filming and I take the pictures.
Alas!
Last night I came down with a cold, and felt too weak to be running around with a camera, so we stayed home.
Yeh!... stayed home all right until Bernie decided to take me and the scarf out for a short drive in the little red car.


On River Road we spotted a field of ducks and so we decided to stop and take a few pictures.
Here with the scarf hanging around his shoulders, is Bernie and the little red car and a whole lot of ducks!


The birds have no objections to being photographed.
I guess that they are used to it.



I ventured out of the car and the little scarf is keeping me warm!


We just had to stop for a coffee and newspaper at Harvey's.
I was getting pretty tired when we left the restaurant and as Bernie made one last stop, the scarf and I waited in the car as he went into Canadian Tire to make a purchase.



I decided to take another picture of the scarf as it rested on the mirror.
The Canadian Tire sign can be seen in the background.



Then I took a picture of the traveling scarf and me!



After having an afternoon nap, the three of us ended our evening by going out to do the laundry and when we returned,I decided it is past my bed time and so now I am going to bed!

The Traveling Scarf Has A Rainy Evening Ride On The Dashboard Of The Little Red Car

Wednesday evening as the little red car escorted us home before the Gospel meeting, we ran into a rain storm and the little traveling scarf insisted on sitting on the dashboard[and for sure what a nifty looking dashboard it was!] so it could enjoy the rain and appreciate the fact that it was NOT snow!



The lights of the cars reflected on to the roadway and it looked so very beautiful!



On the way home we rode along Lincoln Street.



The multi-coloured scarf was finally getting a wee rest.
Oh dear, I do believe that there is a lonely white thread of wool that will need some tucking in when we get that scarf home!


The refections were just marvellous!
The little red car even caught a few refections in its window as we travel down Southworth Street.

The lights were blending right into the road it seemed!


Turning down Navy Street, we are almost home.



Oh there is Bernie's van parked on the street in front of the house where it belongs.
The little red car has dibs on the driveway!



Parked in front of the "garage" The garage is just a tent affair!


The sisterhood traveling scarf, I do believe is admiring its own refletion in the window, "My, how gorgeous I am and how pretty!"

Tuesday Night

Every night of the Gospel meetings, I pick up Mom Golden and the boys up a little early because I have to set up my tiny recorder and attach it to the large audio deck.
I tape all the messages and then Bernie downloads them and makes audio CD's of them.
That way we can copy the good Gospel for the Christians to give to anyone they feel will, even though they would not "darken the door of a church" will listen to the preaching in the privacy of their own homes or in the privacy of their own cars.
Who knows, that as they roll along the highway roads with the CD preaching to them, that they will be just like the Ethiopian and get saved in their own chariots!

Doesn't the traveling sisterhood scarf of many colours look rested as it drapes the recorder deck?

Our Sisterhood Scarf Goes To Wendy's

After the Gospel meeting, seeing as the children hadn't come, I asked their Gramma if she would like to come with Mom Golden and me to Wendy's for a baked potatoe and a coffee.
The little multi-coloured scarf thought that this was a good idea.
"Surely there would not be any picture taking at a fast food joint!
Surely NOT!"
Well you little scarf of many colours, I have the run of Wendy's and Macdonald's!
I have the permission from the management to take pictures.
I have photographed several of the kids and printed up pictures for them!
So I hung the scarf around the shoulders of Gramma Sandy and snapped a picture.
Actually I think that that scarf looked pretty dapper on the Gramma!


Mom Golden looks a little tired, eh but the scarf cheered her up.
For sure and Mom Golden DOES love her baked potatoes!


Now, when Bernie got back from work this afternoon, the two of us worked out a contract with the CAT!
He so has his nose still out of joint because of losing his magic carpet to a scarf and for his father spending so much time with the said scarf!
Well we gave him back his old towel[because that is really what that rug is!..just an old bath towel!]and gave him a whole jar of cat treats and allowed him to be in a least one picture alone,and well here is finally a picture!

The Scarf Is Getting TIRED!

Saturday evening after we returned from cleaning the hall, Bernie and I took the tired scarf to the Laundromat, where we had to wash Bernie's working clothes.
As that muti-coloured scarf watched the clothes driers [which looked like giant TVs] spinning the clothes around and around, we got the idea that it did NOT like watching soap operas!
Soooo....Bernie put that poor scarf on his lap for a few more repairs!


Our night was still not over.
I had to make the big fruit salad for the Spanish Gospel meeting.
Every other Sunday afternoon, the Spanish Christians have a meeting at the Gospel Hall to preach the good news.
They gather in the local Spanish residents from around the area and bring them in.
After the meeting, they serve them a nice lunch.
They are not sweet eaters,these Spanish, but they DO love fruit, so I elected myself several years ago to make the "ensalada de frutas".
The scarf's many colours did not clash with the fruit salad colours.
Not a bit!



Sunday afternoon at Mom and Dad Golden's, the scarf finally had a rest!
it lovingly snuggled against Mom Golden and she is so tiny that it felt more like a blanket than a scarf!
Oh Mom Golden has kicked off both of her shoes!


Mom Golden was so happy and she had no trouble smiling!


Well here the scarf covers both Mom Golden and me, and as Bernie takes a picture,Dad Golden waits for his turn!



Well finally Dad Golden has the great priviledge of feeling the softness of that traveling scarf around his neck.
And I am sure that he knows that there are 15 sisters praying for him that he will take the Lord!
He too, looks happy to be wearing the scarf, eh?

The Traveling Scarf Meets A New Friend

As I was mentioning last night sisters, the traveling scarf of many colours has met a new Canadian made-friend.
This fluffy white scarf has a story behind it.
Every Saturday morning, Bernie and I travel to the small town of Port Colborne to have our breakfast at Macdonalds.
We had befriended there an elderly couple.
Now, as I have already told you that even on the coldest of days I never wear a scarf.
Well the dear elderly lady took pity on me.
One Saturday when Bernie and I arrived at the Macs, the lady gave me a package and there wrapped up inside was this pretty white warm scarf that the dear lady had knitted just for me!
Well the two of these scarves became friends at first sight!
And so we took them both along to spend the day together with Bernie and I.


We each took our cameras along and it didn't take that Bernie long to start snapping pictures!


If it hadn't of been so cold, I am sure that we would have all enjoyed picnic on the rocks, but it sure was not balmy!
For sure and it was down right freezing!


Here, the two scarves are attempting to warm me up!


Oh poor Bernie!
I do hope that Jada Gigi appreciates what we are doing for her!
Shivering beside the lake we are!
Can you see the large boat behind Bernie, that has anchored for the winter?

Brrr!
The only reason we came to the water front was to take some snow pictures for Jada Gigi.
We wanted to take a picture too of the lighthouse out over the water, but can you believe it?
Just like the hymn says, "They have torn the old lighthouse down!"
What a shame!


Here I sit like a lady of liesure, wearing two scarves and a hat!


Four friends..Multi-colored sister hood traveling scarf, fluffy white Canadian-made scarf, little red car and one crazy Canadian lady!

The scarf of many colours is unlearning to say "huh"? and learning to say "eh?" with the best of us!


Four friends...ditto..ditto..ditto..and one crazy Canadian man having more fun than he has had in years!


It was our turn to clean the Gospel Hall, so we left Port Colborne and the little red car took us back to Welland.
As you can see here, we left the fluffy white behind because we wanted to spend some qualty time with the multi-coloured!

The good scripture verses here on each side of me were made with quality steel from one of our local factories.
One of the bosses over there, one day, asked Grampa Yade if he could use some steel and of course Grampa Yade accepted it with many thanks!


HERE'S Bernie, walking around, as proud as a peacock with our new friend draped over his shoulders!


And here he is, making sure that any loosed yarn is put back into place, loosed I must admit by his careless wife!
In our almost 37 years of marriage, Bernie has always been a Felix and alas...I hsve
always been an Oscar!
For better or worse though, eh?

Inside the hall, Bernie put on the camera timer.
We are standing on the spot where 37 years ago, almost that we were married.
My but how the time has flown!
Wish we had of known all the sisters and the multi-coloured scarf back then!
They would have all been invited to the wedding!
Even that Idaho Snow Queen!


We got the hall ready for the breaking of bread rememberance meeting.
The table in the middle doesn't usually have Bibles on it, just the loaf of bread and the cup of wine, but Bernie placed these precious books here so we could take a picture for you.
One is an Englsh Bible and the other one is a Spanish Bible.
We have about twelve Spanish people in fellowship and they are the dearest people!


Bernie took a closer picture of the Bibles.


I think of Arlene so many, many times!
Even when she was so sick, she would visit my blog and tell me that she was still praying for Dad Golden.
We, all of us, loved her SO much that I thought it only fitting that she deserved this honour of the beloved sisterhood scarf placed here on this, her most favourite verse
