Abundantly Abiding

It was time to take the sock out for a ride in my Merry Old Oldsmobile!  It probably won't again get the opportunity to ride in such a classic car, ;) We put it drive and pointed it in the direction of the grocery store.
It was so nice to see flowers and plants out side of the grocery store.  It beats seeing salt and snow shovels
any day of the week!

I've been to this store too many times to count, yet this time I felt the Lord speak to me about abundance.
There is any thing you could possibly want from Sushi to Tzatziki Sauce.  I walked past the bakery section and there was Justin Biebers face staring up at me on a birthday cake. There are so many frozen meals, meals in a bag, meals at the deli.  You'd never have to actually cook if you didn't want to.

I'm thankful to live in a place where my biggest problem is that there is too much to choose from. Such abundance!  We are spoiled and sometimes our behavior shows it. Lord keep us humble.

My favorite source of abundance comes from my little patch of garden in my own back yard.  If you want to appreciate good food, just plant one or two things for starters.  You'll be hooked.  We plant just enough to be able to handle and if its a good year we may have extra to can.
I was so blessed to have Donna stay with us - even if the time was very short.  She's getting that fresh broccoli she bought at the farm market ready for dinner!  Abundance of cooking talent and love!  I miss that girl!
There is an abundance of food in the cupboard, in the store and in the field.  It's hard to imagine there are hungry people out there....but there are.  What a blessing to support charities who feed the hungry.  Not only food, but Jesus.  We must feed the hungry body as well as the soul with our abundance.
I want to once again thank Margie for bringing to our attention our little sweetie Sherly. Our own little Scarf Muffin!  We are blessed abundantly!

Luke 6:38
Give and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your lap.  For with the same measure that you measure it shall be measured to you again.

dear miss patty..it is eleven fifteen here but i did not forget that i told you i would be back...i would have been here sooner but when i got home from mom and dad goldens, well that bernie fellow wanted to go to walmart for a coffee!!and then we ended up doing some shopping and then when we did get home, i had to work on a ruby tuesday post....life is just so busy at times!

those two socks look like they are enjoying the ride in your fancy car...why the only way they got a ride in the little red car was on my stinky feet...not nice, eh?

miss patty it IS so nice to see all the flowers and plants for sale at the stores...bernie always waits til the end of may to plant flowers because sometimes during the month of may we get cold spells that kill a lot of the tender flowers...

miss patty, you are so right that we should be very thankful...sometimes when the cashier lines are so long, it really bothers me when people complain because i think that at least we can buy where as in the poorer countries, of course they aren't in long lines but then again they can't buy either...when my friend doug yade visits russia to give out free bibles he sees many food lines of people standing for hours for just a few carrots...mind you though those people would leave the bread line and get into the line where the bibles were being given out!

miss patty..those red pepper plants are so luxious looking and you sure do take a good picture with your camera...this one could wind a prize for sure!

what a little darling that donna is!...i don't even think she realizes what a precious treasure she is to us...it was just so great the way that she came to the sister reunion at last...last year..and even greater that she and you had a little oasis in the desert when when she stayed with you and hal for a bit...that was soooooooo nice!

i have found miss patty that the lord jesus HAS given us far more back than what we have ever given him.....what a loving saviour we have....
looking forward to some more fun from you miss patty and some more scripture......i love you...love terry

Abundance it is.
I'd forgotten that old, familiar scripture. Thanks for bringing it up again. Give and you shall be given.
Such smart investment. With the same measure that you measure it shall be measured again.
I guess another place it's written, he who sees what's been given in secret, shall reward publicly. ( Transferred by me).

The only think I keep account of is the tithe. The rest of the month the Lord provides for us. We are being blessed, and we have never starved or run into debt.

It was a timely reminder though that we shall be rewarded with the same measurement that we give.

Transfered means translated. It's garden-time, no time for spell checking. (Or thinking).
From my heart to yours, lots and lots of love.

Some how I knew what Felisol meant before she translated her translate :)

That scripture jumped off the page when I read it. You can never out do or out give God .. but he surely has blessed beyond measure.

You are rockin' those socks Sister!

Tzatziki Sauce?? What is that? I am so out of the loop? When I first read it, I read "Zitzaki" sauce..and I was wondering if it was some new facial cleanser formula....ahem. Seriously...I need to get out more.
