I
will meditate on Your precepts
And
contemplate Your ways
I
will delight myself in Your statutes
I
will not forget Your word.
Psalm
119: 15,16
Every
time I read this verse it gives me assurance of where I am in my prayer and
devotional life. The verse does not say I have, or I did, it says I will meditate,
I will contemplate, I will delight, I will not forget Your word.
It
is a blessed employment, profitable to the soul when I determine myself to say I will read,
study and apply the wisdom of God to every moment of my daily life.
My
sister directed me to this scripture when I first accepted Christ into my
life in 1999.
I have always found it a
delightful reminder of her and how she sang and rejoiced with me when I came to the Lord....and I know she is singing and dancing with all the angels in heaven waiting for our blessed reunion one day
It is the first scripture that came to mind
when the Adventure of the Traveling Tidbit was birthed.

Those are good words to bear in mind everyday. Not what I have done, because that's not much, but my daily intentions.
How I love the Psalms.
Donna, this is a beautiful post and so absolutely perfect for the Tidbits Adventure! I love you my precious sister!
Many hugs...............
Di
what a good verse and wonderful encouraging words that you shared with it ...
i smile when i think of my little sister in heaven - no more pain, no more suffering - and no more goodbyes ...
(hugs)
The Psalms are very direct, eh? Love, Love, Love, this. I Will Rise .. comes to mind too :)
Rejoicing in God's word, always! Same yesterday, today and tomorrow. An eternal perspective gives us an anchor in the tides of change. xx C
One of the first things I
noted when I read this post was this:
"It is a blessed employment, profitable to the soul when I determine myself to say I will read, study and apply the wisdom of God to every moment of my daily life."
I say (again) how much I appreciate your WRITING. You are so very gifted, Donna. And secondly, this reminds me of the book "Practicing His Presence" by Brother Lawrence. And excellent book, if you've not read it - the author shares the importance of recognizing God in EVERY moment.
Great post!
(p.s. The word verification for this post is "Icilian" - not to be confused with ITALIAN! ;)
THank you for sharing this with us. The verse "I will..." is powerful because it is a declaration of intent. Followed by determined action, it puts us on the road of life change and upward movement. Loved this post, Donna.
dear donna... i never realized how many "i wills" were in the bible...,my favourite i will is "i will come."...if we come to the lord jesus with that i will, he will surely receive us ..
the other i will that i truly look forward to is, "i will come"...the same words but words spoken by jesus . a promise to us that he will come to get us soon!....love terry
