After going 1 year seizure-free, Kiersten started having seizures again last week. She had a total of 50 seizures this time around before they finally got them stopped with a very heavy dosage of Phenobarbital. She is now very drugged up and the doctors have started to back off of the medication as she has gone ...72 hours with no seizures.
During various testing, the doctors noticed that her liver enzymes were elevated. They are now worried she might have Alpers' Disease. Blood was drawn today to test for it. We will get the results back in 21 days. This means that we have 21 days to pray this thing away. We need for everyone to pray that Kiersten does not get diagnosed with this dreaded disease.

I don 't know about this disease
My heart is heavy for precious Kiersten and for all of the family. I know the Lord can heal this precious baby and pray that His will would be wrought in her body and life. I pray for mercy and understanding among the family as you attempt to cope with the days ahead, days of uncertainty and doubt. May your hearts be comforted and your faith be strengthened.

In days like this, we feel so small, and know there's only one place we want to be; near the Lord. He is near to baby Kiersten after his promises, the shadow by her right hand. Dear Lord, we pray you , have mercy and use your almighty power to heal baby Kiersten, that she may live and be a become a neverforgetting witness about your love and your power. Amen
