I arrived this afternoon at Amrita 's front door
all safe and sound, having crossed 2 continents by air.
I am quite a globetrotter am I not!
I' ve had such enjoyable and exotic visits in
the United States, Canada, Norway, the Philippines and
now its the land of the Taj Mahal- India.
the word) Swagatam or welcome here in Allahabad,
a fairly large city in North India.
Amrita created a special seat ,
spreading a silk saree for me, as
her red carpet is all rolled up for
the summer.
drink with a lite snack, followed
by whatever refreshments the hosts
have in the house.
It helped me get over my jet lag.
It helped me get over my jet lag.
with a vegetable called koond-roo(kundru)
and potatoes.
kitchen, Mama and I heard
listened to Christian Internet Radio
on the veranda.
And stir fried with with sliced onions and chopped garlic, powdered turmeric ,
roasted cumin seeds and dried red chillies
bread called chapatis.
India is land of multi ethnic cuisines.
You can get lost in this
Amazon (or amazing) forest of food.
Indian food preferences are
influenced by religion, caste, ethnicity,
state, agriculture, language and economic status.
And of course health is another consideration.

As additions to her posts
Amrita wants to talk about my ancestors,
aprons or protective garments
from the Bible.
The world 's first apron was hastily woven togetherby Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden,
after they had eaten the forbidden fruit.,
thus committing sin.
The knowledge of good and evil dawned upon
them and their eyes were opened
towards their own nakedness.
Their bodies became vessels of
guilt and shame instead of
glory and grace.
So to cover the nudity of their mind
and body they stitched together garments made with
fig leaves.
These leafy vestments would be complete failures
because fig leaves irritate the skin and would soon
whither and fall off., or the wind would
blow them away.
Our first parents needed a strong,
trustworthy, durable
and hard wearing raiment.
We shall talk about that in our next post.

Hi friends, I am so happy to receive Ms A and I will do all the 7 entries, but forgive me i f they don 't come daily.
What a clever Sister Miss Apron has graced ... to be so creative as to tie her existence in with the account of the fig leaf clothing from the Bible. This shall be an interesting adventure to wrap up our year. The food and refreshments look yummy too!:)
Yeah, I'm intrigued by the Bible study on aprons on which we are embarking! Never knew that fig leaves were skin irritants, though I knew the fig leaf aprons had to be a bad idea from a durability standpoint. Trust the Holy Father to make decent clothes for his children even though they had been terribly naughty.
I enjoyed hearing about Miss Apron's visit!
What a good adventure Ms. A will be having! I'm excited to read all that she has to say!
I must admit, I feel so thrilled to see the very same apron that was in my home in Michigan, now in India, touched by each of us!
Looking forward to each one of your posts!
Great news from India.
I knew Amrita would figure out a special way to introduce us and Miss Apron to India.
I'm so looking forward to the Indian posts.
You gave us tasty food for body and soul in the first post.
Thanks.
oh miss apron ..you are with our princess amrita and i sure do hope that you will show her respect and be a good girl...already she is feeding you well but that is ok..you have spent many hours in the air flying to her and mama and sheeba..so eat your fill but mind your manners!

I know I'm going to enjoy
your posts, Amrita, as this
one was so interesting. Miss
Apron will enjoy herself as
well.
So sweet what Pat said about
how all of us have touched this
same apron. We're connected
through "her". I love that.
Love,
Sandy
Hugs to all of you sisters. Miss Apron wanted to sleep off her jet lag, so I let her rest.
