Wow, so exotic! I love to hear about all these different foods. You know Amrita, the bitter gourd, when sliced, looks almost exactly like "okra" from Southern USA, which is also bitter. Maybe the same family. I have a recipe book from the 1800s that has "quince pie" in it, so it must grow somewhere in N. America also. So fun to see pictures of it in natural form, cut apart and in powdered form. I never heard of the powder, but now will look for it in the foreign foods market. Then I can feel like I have shared something with you. I LOVE YOUR CANADIAN FLAG ON THE FRIDGE! Did Sita send it, or your relative that lives near her? Fun stuff! Love, Sheila
