I just want to end my time with the sock adventure this evening by saying that there is nothing more important in this life than being prepared for the next. We can gain the whole world and lose our very own soul. And then what do we have? Nothing. This world has nothing to offer a true child of the living God as far as material things. Our families are our most priceless gifts here. And, yes, it's nice to have a lovely home and good clothes, a reliable car. There's certainly no harm in that. But nothing is so valuable as our salvation. And we must not hold too tightly to anything material.
Soon the Lord Jesus will be returning to this sinful world to take away His own. We who have received Jesus Christ as our personal Savior and made Him Lord of our lives will reign forever with Him in our heavenly home. The fact that He is coming back for us should keep us prepared and ever watchful.
The word of God tells us no one knows the hour of his return. If we know Him it is an exciting event and something to look forward to. I love to just think about Jesus returning and every eye seeing Him and every knee having to bow and every tongue confessing that He is Lord! He will lovingly wipe away every tear and there will be no more sin, sickness, or sorrow. What a time that will be!
On His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, King of Kings and Lord of Lords!
Come quickly, sweet Lord Jesus!
Sandy

what a wonderful time it will be.
I know my Mom and dad are rejoicing already. On their headstone is written "Finished the course, kept the faith".
I pray we all can have the same testimony.
Loved this post - really needed to read it today - thank you.
Love to you - kelly
I've Become My Mother
dear sandy...you have saved the best to the last...it seems that the coming of the lord is so near!..and how great it will be to hear that shout!
"13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
felisol my dearest friend, i can't wait to see mom and dad ljung...oh what stories we will have to tell each other, eh?
what a day that will be...you know sandy, i really believe that there will be more people in heaven then there will be in hell because doesn't the lord jesus tell us, "And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence."
what a blessed people we are!..the church, the bride of christ!...no matter what denomination, just the ones who have accepted the lord!"
thank you sandy for the encouragement that you have given us.....love you more than i did yesterday ....love terry
Even so, come quickly Lord! I love you Sandy, what an inspiration you are to us.
yes, Lord, come quickly!
I cannot stop thinking of that old song "What A Day That Will Be". What a day that will be, when my Jesus I shall see; and I look upon His face, the one who saved me by His grace. When He takes me by the hand, and leads me to the Promised Land; what a day, glorious day that will be!!!!
Yes, come quickly Lord Jesus!!!
Many hugs........
I'm singing that song right along with Diane. Oh what a day that will be!
Maranatha!
Singing here as well. I had to come back and read this post again because I was so blessed to read it the first time - and saw that I neglected to comment....so I'm commenting now. Come Quickly Lord Jesus has been my mantra of late...oh, how I long for Him to come and take us from all the ugliness of this world...yet my heart aches for those who do not know Him. It makes me want to be even more diligent in spreading the Good News.
