Christmas Wishes

Well, here it is, the day after Christmas and I am now finding time to send Christmas wishes to all my Sisters in our Sisterhood of the Traveling Scarf/Apron/Bible/?... It's not that I haven't had time previous to this...it's just that as is typical of my life, I'm always several days behind the rest of the world!

I would love to share with you dozens of photos of how lavishly decorated our home is for the holidays, however, there are none. It's difficult to take photos of things that don't exist! I will, however, be happy to show you our "Charlie Brown Tree" (Note how proud Brillo Man is of the star which he placed (albeit very crooked) on the top!

Somewhere along the way, I've lost the desire to decorate. BUT...If I were ever to regain that desire, THIS is how our home would look for the holidays:

So...you can all close your eyes and imagine that our home looks like the above photo. Works for me!

Seriously....I have said it before and I will say it again...I consider myself blessed to be a part of this internet "family" of "sisters." I pray that you all are blessed beyond belief as you continue to celebrate the birth of our Lord and Savior...for without Him...we would not be we...would we?

Sending hugs to you all...and looking forward to that day when we'll all gather together....either here...or perhaps on the golden streets of that great city...Oh, what a glorious day that will be!

Merry Christmas everyone!

now deb why did you ever make a post that would make us cry?
your last line is a tear jerker!
i don't know how i ever did before getting so many sisters and just to think that mrs. mac and felisol and donna persuaded me to join..

deb maybe that last fancy dancy christmas home has no love in it..
i much rather like the one that brillo man is hanging the star on!
nice and homey..and maybe that other house has no little girl and no handsome daddy and pretty mommy in it!
for sure and no cute and naughty doggie either!
just one fancy dancy show...that's all deb!....i love you...love terry

What a wonderful decorated tree, right from the heart.
I have one thing I detest myself for; once, way back, I was such an unforgivable idiot, that I rearranged the tree Serina with help of Gunnar had decorated, while I was exhausted and sleeping.
(I've never told anyone about this before, and tears of shame are filling my eyes while writing.)
To all luck they both have forgiven me, and Serina still get to decorate the tree alone, and Gunnar will help me both decorating and carrying the 16 boxes of Christmas.
Your tree is about love and so is mine,- now.

Your tree loks so pretty. I like an d th e star too. The star which tops my tree was hand made by my neice when she was a little kid.

Felisol is right , its about love.

Hugs to you

Merry Christmas, Deb and dear sisters! I have often wondered exactly WHO has those perfectly decorated trees and rooms...Not me, for sure! :) Love you all!

There was a 'designer' article in our paper yesterday about decorating our homes for Christmas. The author suggested doing away with reds and greens and using colors that reflect what else you have colorwise instead. Well .. I say phooey! Red and Green and all bright colors are for Christmas. Handmade ornaments made of paper and little pictures of chubby children .. still smeared with a bit of paste and glitter are my choice for 'love' decor at Christmas. Keep the crooked star, Deb .. and NEVER settle for the cold, lifeless, perfect picture from the magazine you've posted.

I treasur e Mrs Mac 's comment.

When we were growing up very simple Christmas decorations were available - some we bought from second hand missionary sales. No Christma s tress were around , bu t we took a potted fern and decorated it.

Of course now all kinds of ornaments can be seen, specially made in China ones and you can buy artifical trees too.

But over all its th e SPIRIT

our house is a whole charlie brown christmas place ... with odds and ends from times past, or things the family has made ... you are doing better than us, in having a tree - we do have a 6 inch little one, but ... mostly lights and memories ...

one day, in glory - Jesus will be all the decoration we will ever need ...

blessings on your "in between week" and 2011 ... and that goes for all the sis-tahs!!!
