The actual temperature right now is 13 degrees below zero with a wind chill of 30 degrees below zero.
It's one of the days the news people tell you if you don't have to go outside....don't! I don't and I won't!! The scarf is staying in the nice warm house...for today anyway!
I just got this poem from my Aunt (who lives in Florida now). I thought it would shed even more light on why I'm staying home today!
**MICHIGAN WINTER**
It's winter here in Michigan
And the gentle breezes blow,
Seventy miles an hour, at twenty five below.
Oh, how I love ole Michigan
When the snow's up to your butt.
You take a breath of winter and your nose freezes shut.
Yes, the weather here is wonderful
So I guess I'll hang around.
I could never leave my Michigan
Cause I'm frozen to the ground!

Smart Sisters...you and our Scarf.
Stay warm...I'm not leaving the house either, but the snow is beautiful glistening like diamonds in the sunshine!
You could get creative and dress Hal in the scarf. Seems to me other guys have had it adorn them ;) Does he cook or sing Karaoke? How about sneaking it over him if you catch him napping? A girl has to use her imagination on arctic blast days :)
Stay warm,
I find a peacefully, resting scarf is perfect for this stormy winter night.
Which bear needs food in the middle of the coldest season?
I'll turn around and sleep further.

Staying in is the best!
Is that an original by Pat? The poem I mean. I'd think with all of the nice winter posts Trish and I have written some of it would have rubbed off on you by now ;) ... guess I'll have to try harder to be happy about winter (lol)
It's -20 here WITHOUT the windchill this morning. At least that's what my van temp. says and I'm believing it because it is COLD!!!!! I'm with you and the scarf - don't go out unless you must!
I almost feel guilty by telling everyone we're supposed to be in the 60's tomorrow here in Texas! A-L-M-O-S-T!
I love the poem! Dave's Mom was from Michigan (Remus) and we have other family in Traverse City. I'll bet Dave's Aunt would appreciate that poem! I think I'll steal it and e-mail it to her.
